Virgin Media have embarked on a new TV ad campaign to trumpet their new ultrafast internet service. The campaign was launched on the ill-fated rugby game between England vs Australia, which saw England get knocked out from the world cup.

The campaign from Virgin Media features a mother and daughter using the new ultrafast broadband service browsing through historic woman including Emmeline Pankhurst who campaigned to help get the women the vote during the suffragette movement, other women featuring include gymnast Nadia Comaneci and singers Billie Holiday and Paloma Faith.

The advert itself will have a soundtrack from Fleur East singing this girl is on fire. The TV ad will have the tag line “Are you ready to be moved?”

The chief marketing officer of Virgin Media, Kerris Bright said “People are moved to do more as a result of the better connection we provide,” The new 100mb and 200mb speed options available to households is a new landmark product allowing their customers the ability to download an album of their favorite artist in just three seconds, or watch a high definition film in around 2-3 minutes.

The campaign will run for the remainder of the year and be supported by print media as well as digital and social media marketing channels.
